1st Padstow Obby Oss, Padstow. The Padstow Obby Oss is reputed to be the oldest dance festival in the country. It is a festival to mark the coming of summer. The town is decked with flags, greenery and flowers. 1st - 4th A Celebration of Cornish Gardens, Trelissick Garden Truro. By kind permission of the National Trust. This event is part of the official programme for the visit to Cornwall of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in her Golden Jubilee Year. A unique event with 21 of Cornwall's leading gardens taking centre stage with garden exhibits to take your breath away. Supported by the Counties leading nurseries which will sell plants, trees, shrubs, bulbs, on all four days of the show. Scent, colour and a rich variety of exhibits will fill the massive Golden Jubilee Marquee. The Ebor Singers, a chamber group of young singers based in York, present a series of concerts across the region, with music for a summer evening. The choir regularly hold concerts in York Minster and have appeared on radio and television, and have taken part in the International Carlisle Music Festival and International York Early Music Festival. Their programme will include repertoire from the seventeenth century to the twentieth century, including part-songs by Elgar and Vaughan Williams, Tippett's 5 Negro Spirituals, Gorecki's Totus Tuus and Barber's Agnus Dei.
